AC Serbia launched a new project funded by EU through RSEDP2 (Regional Socio-Economic Development Programme II).
The project aims to support Serbian automotive-component manufacturers become competitive in the market, establish themselves as reliable suppliers to national, regional and international Tier-1/-2 suppliers and vehicle manufacturers (OEMs), and thereby create sustainable employment opportunities in the target regions.
Within this context, the programme envisages achieving three inter-related objectives that are outlined below:
- Supporting local automotive component manufacturers to build stronger linkages to OEMs and Tier-1 suppliers and better benefit from investments in the country’s automotive industry.
- Assist local firms to apply state-of-the-art methodologies for process, productivity as well as environmental and social improvement, comply with buyer requirements in these domains, become more productive and competitive in the marketplace and create jobs for local people.
- Build the capacity of component manufacturers to prepare bankable business plans and project proposals for acquiring new technology, and
- Enhance local communities’ access to training and jobs within the entire automotive value chain, thereby achieving greater spill-over effects of investments and growth in this sector.
