Germany’s I.G. Bauerhin starts auto seat heater production in Indjija. German automotive seat heater producer I.G. Bauerhin launched production in Indjija yesterday under a EUR 1.8 million investment. The company’s Serbian subsidiary, IGB Automotive, plans to post a turnover of EUR 580,000 this year, and it hopes to increase the figure to EUR 3.7 million in 2008 and EUR 7.5 million in 2009. Bauerhin has decided to invest in Serbia after mulling production in Bulgaria , Romania , and the Ukraine . According to I. G. Bauerhin President Josef Hilmer, the German company opted for Vojvodina due to the province’s efficient administration. Initially, I.G. Bauerhin will employ about 300 people in Indjija, but it plans to boost the workforce to 500 over the next five years, Hilmer said. I.G. Bauerhin supplies seat heaters to Audi, BMW, Fiat, Ford, Porsche, Opel, and other industry leaders.
